DSST

Earn credit at t ºÚÁÏÉçÇø through the DSST program.

The DSST program—previously known as DANTES Subject Standardized Tests—lets you earn credit toward your University of Maryland Global Campus degree by passing exams. There are 34 DSST exams available in multiple subject areas. When the scores have been received, an evaluator will determine whether they meet the standards established at t ºÚÁÏÉçÇø for granting DSST credit and how much credit may be awarded.

The ºÚÁÏÉçÇø code number for the DSST program is 9357. You must enter this number on your exam material if you want your score sent to UMGC.

Requesting Your Scores

You will need the ºÚÁÏÉçÇø code number for the DSST program which is 9357.

  • For exams taken since July 1974:
  • For exams taken prior to July 1974

Additional Information

  • All minimum score requirements are equivalent to a C letter grade.
  • The Principles of Public Speaking exam is available by appointment only by contacting your location or emailing ntc@umgc.edu.
  • Students who want their scores sent to UMGC Adelphi, UMGC Asia, or UMGC Europe should list the score report number 9357 on their examination papers. UMGC Adelphi receives all DSST score reports; the same code should be used for all locations.
  • Active-duty military personnel may apply for and take DSST exams without charge at the education office of their respective military installations if taking an exam for the first time; military funding is no longer available for retesting.

Other conditions, such as the appropriate score, must be satisfied. All estimates are based on current exams.
